Speaking with hundreds of people in all walks of I life it's interesting to see how many of them are content. It's also a little frustrating. They go day by day in a world of unhappiness because they believe this is it - this is all life has to offer. They have become ok with being ok and that's not ok.

I believe happiness is an action that manifests itself as an emotion. I don't have any studies to cite or white papers; I can only share experiences from my life to prove this.

When we take action we create pride in ourselves for doing what we know we should be doing. Things like making the cold call, doing a walk in, asking the tough questions or challenging a CEO to rethink how s/he buys your product or service. When someone doesn't take action they create a resentment in themselves and get depressed. They know they should do more or be more but the fear of action freezes them in their place.

"Today, make someone else happy, you will find it makes you happy." ~Donnie Boivin

Happiness is action and is also an opponent. To be happy you can't just say "I'm happy" you have to fight for it. Go toe to toe with life and whoop the hell out of it. To create your world as the happiest place there is take massive action which creates massive pride. You get proud of yourself for doing the things you don't want to do and that creates happiness.

Doing nothing is the opposite of happiness. I promise you can't stay unhappy while doing something that makes you proud you did it.

Most people say that they want to be successful in life. They want to achieve their goals and feel content with their accomplishments.
